Im going to Costa Rica surrounded by April, where on earth should I stay surrounded by downtown or by the airport?

What are the most see places? Is it better to stay at the pacific side or on the other end?

Answers:    I'm a touch surprised at SOME of the answers you've gotten so far. Depending on what time you arrive, you may be tired from the trip, and do stay (maybe one day) at a hotel near the airport to rest and energize. The most reasonable rate I found close the airport was at "bbmilleniumcr.com" They enjoy free pick-up from the airport if you e-mail them or call them on the phone. The christen of the airport, near San Jose, by the track, is Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santa Maria (SJO) and it is in Alajuela. That airport is NOT SO BUSY that you hold to worry something like noise.
Then come first out to, what I recommend, the Pacific Ocean side of Costa Rica. It is beautiful, full of different events. a variety of prices and styles. I instinctively have like horse-back riding (with breakfast and lunch included) at Cataratas Nauyaca near Dominical for around $40 (it's worth it). But you do inevitability reservations and they start the tours at about 7 or 8 AM.
I've have good luck renting cars from Alamo/National.
I similar to Manuel Antonio area.
Other than that, Have fun. I know you'll relish Costa Rica!
(USE COMMON SENSE in guarding your valuables as within any other major city surrounded by the world.) There are good and doomed to failure places as anywhere else. But Costa Ricans are very friendly!
Forget just about those kidnappers, thats BS... near is no such thing... Costa Rica is extraordinarily well developed country and have lot attention for tourists. Beaches are amazing and downtown is very effective airport any way. Enjoy your trip hmm look on yahoo travel.

i know that's not a totally good answer but it really help me on my cancun vacation.
I'm tico, and I recommend you to stay on any city or town, really, hard by the airport there're not a lot of things to do, but within San Jose, you have like mad of places you can visit. If you resembling beach, try Jacó or Herradura, they are the nearest to Alajuela International Airport

In San José, you can do greatly of stuff, from visiting parks and museums, to buy seriously of things in downtown or any shopping arcade.}

Good Luck on your trip and HAVE FUN!
The airport is in the boonies. San Jose, for that business, is a long way from the coast. Not much of a downtown, but a little shopping and stuff.

There are lots of neet things to do, and companies, all set to put you on a tour. It is a great country for travel.
Niether lol, go downtown and youll bring shot or kidnapped and by the airport lots of drug dealer and loud noise from airport. When I go to Costa Rica we stayed at a very nice hotel contained by San Juan. It was enormously conveniently located. We could walk to the seaside which was positively beautiful! or thieve a cab to other attractions straight from the hotel. And the scenery was amazing!
Costa Rica is a charming place, enjoy it!
=)
You would probably own a better time in places further away from downtown and the upper air port. Maybe like sooner or later there, but the most elegant places there are areas resembling Tortuguero, Arenal and Monteverde. You should look into those places, I just go to them and it was amazing. resourcefully for this reasons (kidnapped and by the airport lots of drug dealer and loud noise from airport) vehicle you can not even leave your country no thing where you are from.
however you can stay at Trapp Family Country Inn
www.trappfamilycountryinn.com
or hotel villa dolce
www.hotelvilladolce.com
Go downtown. You are bound to own more fun
