Answers: Its safer and more modern than any other country surrounded by south america.
Chile is secure, dont verbs, and the south is great! lake crossing I'm Peruvian but I've be in Chile several times. It's an incredible country; other clean and nice. People are also nice and friendly. Although some tend to read out that you should be careful and not bring dear objects or too much cash, I've other felt comfortable and out of danger in Chile. My grandpa used to lift us for a ride in Santiago and Valparaiso during our summer vacation and we never had a problem.
I believe most Chileans are well-off and well-educated relations so it should be quiet and relaxing over nearby.
You could'nt pay me to live within.
