Arenal Observatory Lodge or Arenal Springs Resort, Costa Rica?
Any Opinions on this hotels?
Answers: Definetly the lodge, much better and cleaner and simply great.
Arenal Observatory Lodge was created for medical study of the Volcano after the major eruption of 1968. It have the BEST lava views 24/7 as it is located around the backside of the Volcano towards the South West corner. Another great hotel contained by this area is Linda Vista del Norte. It is located further from the volcano but complex up on a hill overlooking the Arenal Lake. They hold a great steak house there too if you merely want to go for dinner near Great Lava Views!
Arenal Springs is Closer to La Fortuna (the major tourist crux in the area). This lodge have very nice Volcano view but not really great lava views. It is located towards the North of the Volcano. The flow used to be closer but have shifted almost due west today.
