As far as the discovery of Colombia goes it be inhabited by native peoples close to the muiscas and others untill spanish conquistador Alonso de Ojeda "discovered" it in 1499.
Nevado de Ruiz and Nevado de Tolima. Both are helpful Volcanoes. The last eruption of Nevado de Ruiz be in 1985.
