Has anyone ever be to Suriname?
I am going on a Missions trip there, I simply speak a little Dutch... what's it approaching there?
Answers: The basic language is Sranan Tongo, but Dutch is the sanctioned language. Sranan is an English creole so you will be capable of pick up on a lot of what they utter. Surinam is pretty much a backwaters country and they have the smallest population within South America. The country is heavily dependent on Dutch foreign aid and half of the population fled to the Netherlands after independnce be acheived in 19775.
