What are worthy reason to travel to Colombia?
My friend is thinking of visiting Colombia, but she is not sure nonetheless.
Help me persuade her to call in Colombia!

Answers: People who manufacture comments about drugs and kidnappings show how not learned and sheltered they are and should stay in their trailer watching the Jerry Springer Show.
There are so heaps great things to see and do in Colombia. Of course, for starters, the property Bogota is a world class city with going on for 7 million people. While contained by Bogota, she can visit zona G for some of the world class restaurants. For darkness life, near is the T zone and La Zona Rosa, among others. For history, have her call in El Museo de Oro, the largest collection of gold artifacts contained by the world. She can also come visit the Museo Nacional, which have many great atrifacts from Colonial times as very well as from the Pre-Columbian era. And, of course, no look in to Bogota would be complete without a step through La Candelaria, the quaint, colonial nouns of Bogota.
Outside of Bogota, withing driving distance, there are abundant great places to visit. One of my favorites is Villa de Leyva, which is a highly old (mid 1600's, if I remember correctly) colonial rural community. They have done a great errand of preserving the historic, colonial era architecture and, in my assessment, you get a moral sense of what colonial Colombia once looked like.
A great bearing to see the diversity of climates in such a come to a point range is to drive from Bogota towards La Vega. In a situation of an hour or so, you go from the cool, mountainous climate of Bogota down into a thaw out, tropical setting, with banana and ginger trees all around.
There are also plentiful interesting places to see in departmento (state) of Boyoca. Among my favorites is Paipa, which also is prearranged for its hot springs. Boyaca itself is worth a visit, where on earth there are memorials to the Battle of Boyaca, a knob turning point in the war for independence.
Beyond Bogota, near are so many different cities and towns to call on with a great array of climates and architectures. Many foreigners like to stop by Cartagena, which is a colonial city on the Carribean coast and which is known for its elegant architecture. Unfortunately, I have not on the other hand had a randomness to visit here.
Barranquilla is another tropical city on the Carribean, beside a very reheat, humid climate. This is also the birthplace of Shakira.
If your friend likes dance and music, any place in Colombia is moral, but Cali is the place to go to soak up great music, dancing and nightlife.
If a sand setting is what your friend likes, she could also pop in Santa Marta and Isla Providencia.
If your friend is more interested in make-up, Parque Tayrona is also a fantastic place to visit. In reality, its beach be recently rate as the #2 beach within the world by the Financial Times.

one other note, for the smaller quantity informed person who works at JC Penny - Before Alvaro Uribe become president (I think at this point he have been surrounded by office for nearly 6 years) there be thousands of kidnappings every year and the various guerrilla and paramillitary groups be running rampant and operating fairly autonomously within Colombia. Since becoming president, the country has succeded contained by greatly reducing the influence, presence, and power of these groups. The guerrillas are mostly relegated to jungle areas in the south of the country, far from any public figure population centers. Many guerrillas and paras have also laid down their arms and enter programs to help them acquire reintegrated into society. Finally, according to an article I read very just this minute, there be roughly 100 kidnapping surrounded by Colombia last year, down from the thousands a year I have mentioned earlier.

All the reasons population listed above. If you want to relaxed her fears i would suggest looking up statistics regarding the VAST enrichment in payment in Colombia, especially Bogota. I do not know exactly where on earth you are headed, but it's a start.
Colombia have a lot of exquisite places to see. In Bogota Monseratte, Plaza Bolivar, La Candelaria, etc. Beautiful Caribbean cities include Cartagena and Santa Marta.

I hold flown to Colombia four times. However, like any other foreign country here are places to visit and here are places you do not go and things you do not do. .
Staying within the large cities would be your safest route. Personally, I would not drive a motor from city to city. As in various third world countries, the roads are not good contained by places and there "really are places" that you have need of to avoid. .
During my trips to Colombia I had no problems at adjectives and everything the others have said is true something like the people. But, I be careful. While I be there I canceled a drive to Santa Marta because of four British hiker were kidnap in an nouns they should have particular better than to go.

8. violence is in reality a silly stereotype IGNORANT people hold, if u check CIA stats you'll find there is more crime contained by Miami and Washington DC than in Colombian cities.
9. They are a different culture, not your typical latin (puerto rican, mexican, cuban blah blah blah people), only a complete different culture
10. they have great beach, enormous jungle,, deserts, amazing mountain ranges and big upbeat happening type of cities.

Colombia has more to proposal than Costa Rica, the Capital of Colombia, Bogota is the second or third coolest cities of south america after Buenos aires: technology, history, concerts, parties, alot of race.
in Bogota you can find not lone gorgeous girl in your luggage good looking men too (some next to european type), as I said there the deputation is a religion and Bogota is the south american capital of techno and rock, run to the Pink Zone (93 street)and G zone (73 street)
some said that Bogota will have a subway
by the other side you hold cartagena good city, santa marta, San andreas islands (i recomend to you to outdo here first)
Dont go to Colombia, i would move about to Chile, Uruguay or Argentina instead, northern south american countries are very insecure right presently and chances of you getting raped or kill are 75% positive. Trust me, Im south american and it stinks to say this just about my continet but it's a sad truth.
