Answers: The major attactions are Tikal (ancient Mayan ruins) and it's unprocessed beauty. Here is a detail of things from an answer I gave to someone else of things to do contained by Guatemala.
Lago Atitlan (a lake near a few volcanoes). There are several villages around the sea, the main tourist spot is Panajachel. Another is San Lucas Toliman. En route to San Lucas Toliman, you can stop by a hillock where the motor or anything will roll UPHILL.

Some other places you may want to go are Puerto Barrios, Rio Dulce, Flores, Peten, Chichicastenango, Lago Izabel, Coban, Monterrico, Quetzaltenango and mixed places throughout Guatemala City.
I guess Mayan Ruins at Tikal and Monterrico- beaches... I would influence that Guatemala's attraction is its history especially in Antigua and Tikal. Antigua is a intensely old city ( the prehistoric capital). There are tons of cathedrals there. Also the population in Antigua are amazing. They are completely nice. Guatemala has tons of pure beauty. Trees and bushes and flowers are everywhere even surrounded by the middle of houses! Monterrico is a beautiful seaside with black sand.
