Are the REI antic tours surrounded by Patagonia worth the money?
I would like to jump trekking in Patagonia (Chile and Argentina) subsequent year. I've never gone on an official tour (other than a few outings that last a few hours or half a day), but I savour traveling on my own. However, I question the sanctuary of embarking on a jaunt resembling this by myself. I'm very fit and comfortable next to hiking and camping but I don't hold any back-packing experience. So I'm thinking maybe a guided tour would be the right concept this time around.
Has anyone done any of the Patagonia adventure tours offered by REI? They're ridiculously expensive, but I know it's a upright company and they have an excellent reputation.
Any feedback, suggestions, and mainly info from someone who's taken one of the tours is much appreciated! My biggest hang-up is definitely the price. I usually travel on-the-cheap.
Answers: I haven't hear about the Patagonia trip within particular, but I enjoy only hear positive feedback from people who enjoy gone on the REI adventures.
I work at an REI store, so I hear about lots of trips. I've hear feedback from 3 customers, and one fellow employee. All be glad they went, and have an awesome time. I would go if I could afford it.
I hold not done it, but one of my best friends and ex-climbing partners did. He said it be great and well worth it.
