Bank machines surrounded by Nicaragua?
I am planning a visit, and want to know how trouble-free it is to find reliable bank machines within Leon, Carazo, and San Juan del Sur. Also, is there anyone out nearby with sports car rental information in Nica. Thanks.
Answers: So sorry Ms. B inborn, I've had computer problems of past due. I'll start w/bank machines. You won't have any problems contained by any of these cities. Your best bet are the larger "Supermercados" to avoid the long lines at the Banks. I purposely opened an acct. at "Citi" because I be aware of their recent "Merge/Buy In" of one of the larger Banks in Nica, I also own a "B of A" Card. Last Oct/Nov both cards worked at all 3 Market ATM's, contained by Nov. only 1 card worked contained by 1 Market and 1 in the others.1 give your balance contained by Cordobas an the other in US$.Please don't drive a vehicle there, at lowest possible until you have be there a while,I drove a truck here,US for 28 years, adjectives 48 states, if I need to drive within Managua I'll keep to areas I know. There are no street signs. The major highways are excellent, but you will find a burro towing 1/2 a sports car or a Nica version of a "U-haul" trailer--ALL the time y everwhere. I've never rented a saloon there.Taxi, Bus or friends but "Budget" have quite a broad system in attendance.Jinotega, Chinandega, Esteli, Granada and at least 5 locations contained by Managua, I'm aware of your "Triangle Search" we've chatted before, out on the west side de Managua at hand is great Bus service/depot. The small newer white busses have A/C - verbs ...20 people or so, I would appropriate one to Masaya o all the mode down to S.J. del Sur - get a quality for the Hwy. -- Back up to Masaya, theres a "Budget" office near and shoot down to Huehuete. Save me a spot y 30 liter's de "Tonya" cause I'll be nearby in Nov. - PLEASE ..Don't drive contained by Managua. Buena Suerte. Siempre ... M. Swanson PS: Reservationes Budget, 011-505-266-6226... o Email www.reserve(a)budget.com.ni -- This is not an Endorsment I've never rented a car here -- They do have excellent map.
They do have atms within the banks(leon, SJDS), but the power always go out. You will not find an atm/bank in tremendously small towns. Atm have apposite exchange rates. You can rent cars in frequent places. You can rent cars in San juan ,by the border and managua. Managua airport have the best rates and the largest selection. not sure give or take a few leon and carazo. If you do rent a car, rent a four controls truck, for all the dirt roads and river bed. Car reservations are not reliable. A bank mechanism is a bank tool, they are reliable. If you need to transfer your money into our local currency (Cordoba) there are men outside bank who do it for no fee, but engineer sure they work with the edge, or are reliable, if not, turn inside and ask.
Now, as for cars, if you plan on driving in Managua, don't. We hold no street signs and addresses are given using local landmark, some of which don't even exist anymore, only us Managuans know. Taxis are no where on earth near expensive, i importantly recommend taking a taxi. But, if you insist on driving a motor or truck, the best place to do so is in the Augusto Sandino International Airport. Budget have the most reasonable prices.
