There isn's a mountain god called Apus. Their leading divinity was Inti or the Sun god. The Apus are simply sacred divinities from which the Incas call in for purification and protection during their special ceremony liked the Inti Raymi celebrated every June 21st.
Nowadays, when you shift to Cuzco, you can ask for a chaman to do a special ceremony involving the Apus, that is, calling for these divinites (such as dust, water nouns, etc) to protect and guide you in time.
