What are the best ways to prevent altitude sickness during a pop in to Peru?
I'll be visiting Cusco, Aguas Calientes, and Lake Titicaca over an 8 sunshine period surrounded by early November. What are the best ways to prevent altitude sickness? Thanks --

Answers: There is this tablets called sorojchi... you can buy it contained by any pharmacy on Peru. It really works cause it prevents altitude sickness, so is not resembling you are going to get somewhat sick or anything and then carry cure with that. but you freshly take it partly an hour or so before getting to the place and you won't own much trouble.

1. Spend some time in the Sierras of California in recent times before your trip to acclimatize to complex altitude.
2. Get a prescription for Diamox from your doctor.
3. Drink a lot of coca tea while within Peru.
im pretty sure sorojche is slang for altitude sickness in Cuzco but anything.
I usually go straight from Lima to Cuzco, seize to cuzco in the morning around 10. Drink lots of coca tea, and sleep alot. Then you can shift around your business like usual the subsequent day, unoless u r really flabby in which satchel it takes another light of day. If you r really worried, then calendar your trip differently. Go to Aguas Calientes first, as it is the lowest in altitude, consequently Cuzco, about 4 thousand foot higher, and after Puno(lake titicaca) which is the highest. THat road you can gradually run up Stay in the plains.
If you can, walk gradually don't fly directly from Lima to glorious altitude. it takes a couple of days for most society to get acclimated. You can step to Arequipa first or Ayacucho both places are great to visit. within are many tips also, drink plenty of marine, take aspirin (thins the blood) drink mate de coca etc. 8 days is hugely short for what you want to do, if you can chose one area you'll hold more fun.
