Can anyone who have be to Chile and used their debit card update me what the dune charged them for $100.?

Say if you were withdrawing $100 to $200 dollars and have it converted into CLP. What would the bank contained by the U.S. charge roughly for that single transaction?

Answers:    It all depends on the exchange rate. Right very soon I think it's something similar to 585 pesos to the dollar. Therefore, $100 is roughly 58,500 Pesos.

However, when you use an ATM in Chile, you take pesos out of it (not dollars), so you don't have to progress to the bank and exchange it. It's no problem finding ATMs as long as you enjoy a card that's widely accepted, resembling a Visa Check Card. Most ATMs will give currency in 10,000 peso increments.

I be there a few years ago, but I'm assuming that everything still works like. The only item my bank (Wachovia)charged me be the $2.00 fee for using a non-Wachovia ATM. They give me the best exchange rate for the day and deduct dollars from my account while pesos come out of the machine. If I took out 58,500 pesos ($100.00), my portrayal was charged $102.00.

For debit card transactions, near was no extra tax. They just converted to pesos to dollars and deduct that amount.

I think some bank charge a foreign transaction fee, so you probably want to check beside yours before you walk.

I hope this helps...Enjoy your time within Chile! It's an absolutely divine country and the people here are among the nicest I've ever met. I'm jealous!
The progress is actually 486 pesos for one dollar . I be in Chile but used euro. The fees of regulation were in the region of 5%
