Has anyone travelled to Guatemala? Has anyone taken spanish contained by school at hand?
Basically I want to travel there within January, and was wondering if it would be possible to nick spanish classes, and what to do to get the most out of the experience.

I would agree beside everything that Didier, the other answerer said. The more experienced the teachers are, the faster you swot up, because they tailor the programme to fit the student perfectly. Of the school that I have attended I found that Don Pedro de Alvarado be the one where I scholarly the most spanish. The social scene is also alot of fun there; they enjoy a party every Thursday darkness. Loads of people come, the director cooks, and near the music and dancing its resembling going out to a club! You meet the local ancestors there as resourcefully as other students. My host family be fab as well. I will other be friends with them. All contained by all, I would enunciate the Don Pedro is the best school you could choose.
Yes, and in attendance are tons of language school. Your best bet is in Antigua, since it have a lot to see, or is close to most of what you will want to see. Quetzaltenago have language school as do other cities, but probably not as entertaining for tourism. I studied with a private tutor who had be recommended by a friend. This teacher have twenty years of experience, and because the instruction was one-to-one I found that classes could be arranged for our mutual convenience. She be broadminded, so we could converse about plentiful topics without reservation; we spoke going on for politics, religion, the manner of people’s lives. When I started beside this teacher I already spoke relatively well-mannered Spanish. With her help I achieve an even greater fluency and accuracy beside the language. In total I stayed surrounded by Antigua for six weeks, studying the whole time I be there.

I found heaps of them have websites on the internet that are markedly informative, but these individual sites are naturally biased toward the individual school. I also asked the opinion of my trainer about the school in Antigua; she have worked in several of the school over many years. In her assessment, the best schools are those which verbs a small group of loyal teachers, twenty teacher at most, in unchanging employment. These teachers come to know respectively other and work together well over a long extent of time. A good academy will not seek freelance teacher only according to the numbers of students enrol at any one time. To work in an optimal craze a good idiom school will enrol between 15 and 30 students at a given time. If a university is large and tend to have 50 or more students you must be mindful; it is very difficult to state more than fifty teachers who adjectives have all right experience to be successful. I'd recommend Panajachel for Spanish language school. It is on Lake Atitlan, which is beautiful, and, unlike Antigua, inexpensive. Also, it is mostly Maya culture who speak Spanish as a second language. There are so several Maya languages surrounded by Guatemala that the people are awfully good at communicating next to people who don't speak equal language. They are also great fun to be around!
Lake Atitlan is centrally located for seeing much of Guatemala contained by easy morning trips, such as the 12 villages around the tarn, 3 volcanoes, and Chichicastenango, and Antigua, or the Pacific coast.
There are several good Spanish school in Panajachel. The weather is fantastic contained by January.
