Are Ecuadorians and Colombians similar?
Answers: In what sense? You need some parameter to compare them. Just because they're neighbours and south americans dont assume that are all matching! Different countries, different food, different people, different accent! Must I assume then that americans and canadians are similar too? Or americans and mexicans?
it depends because nearby are many ethnic population contained by different zones, hence, it depends on the zone youre talking something like, so, if you want you could be more specific!
btw most accents are different :) Colombians are unbelievably different from Ecuadorians. Starting with accent, culture, and ethnicity.. The only entry Similar would that Ecuador is close to Colombia. That's pretty much it..

Colombians themselves are a very diverse group of general public...let alone comparing us to another Country.
I could see why you can put together the assumption being that Ecuador be once part of the Original Grand Colombia.
But to me it seem like Ecuadorians do own their differences and have be able to culturally produce something that is exceptional to them...I traveled to many countries surrounded by South America.and I am amazed with the individuality of the cultures each nation brings forth.

What is really different ist the behavior from both countries. They share a border but we are completly different.
Colombian general public are very rock-hard working as ecuadorians are but they cheat on the people if they own a chance to do it and for their own benefit.
I am not axiom all of them but the ones that I hold met in my country (Ecuador) they are close to that.

Some Colombians are pretty similar to Ecuadorians, especially contained by the border-neighbouring cities like Pasto and Ipiales. Cali and Pasto own loads of Ecuadorians selling handcraft and Inversora Pichincha (Ecuadorian Bank) is all over Colombia.

There used to be a times when Ecuador have thousands of Colombian tourists when they had the Sucre. However ever since Ecuador have opted to amend their currency to the dollar, the tourism marriage have been spoilt.
