How Safe is Caracas for Travelors currently?
How safe is Caracas currently for the avevare travelor?if you use adjectives sense and dont go into shanty towns are you still at great risk?
is public transport locked?

It probably isnt. I have friends surrounded by Venzuela and they say if you are a US Citizen you should probably stay home since Chavez have villified the US so much. It is not safe, I live within Caracas. (sorry if i don't write very honest but my native terms is Spanish and i have difficulties beside English) You are safe contained by an airport. When you get to the exit nearby are a lot of men asking if you want transport (taxi). Public transport is not other safe, try to travel near more people so you are not the merely one.
Once i was surrounded by a Macdonals, taking something from my car when a man come to me, I knew he needed to steal me something so I came running to the police.
Once a friend told me that he be in a bus when a man next to a gun came into it and stealed some money but nought else happened. You are surrounded by risk in a great deal of places but if you don't wear expensive things you are safe. But as within every city there are places that are more dicey than others. You can be calm surrounded by places like commercial centers or other public places that involve be inside a building. Be careful and worthy luck!!

Although there are other parts of Venezuela that are awfully good to call in like La Gran Sabana or el Salto Angel
undesirably, hermano. latin america is not so safe. chavez is a dog who have discredited america alot. there are impressively dangerous things within caracas, there are gang that will get you for nought. we latinos are very agressive, sorry to voice, if you are american beware amigo, publuic transporantion is the worse, the most poor ppl are the taxi drivers, they will try to rob our. here are decent ppl surrounded by caracas, but you have to be carefull
