FCO is almost 20 miles or a half hour away from the city center. You can pinch the train (leonardo express) into town for about 10 euros, a minicab for 35 euros or a private car for roughly 40 euros. All of these options will still bring about 30 minutes to attain you there. There are pros and cons to adjectives these methods of transportation also. If you don't have a great deal of luggage and are on a tight budget, the train is the way to be in motion, but you must watch out for the pickpockets that dangle out on it and you must also handle your own luggage both on and stale the train. A cab will cost you more but it will whip you directly to your hotel. You must be careful to bring a cab from the minicab rank or risk getting a dishonest driver who will try to charge you two or three times what the fare should be. A private driver is the most expensive alternative but they will be waiting for you at the airport with a vehicle and take you directly to your hotel.
