I went to Venice and stayed near an old couple that be passing out fliers at the train station. It be very inexpensive. Im sorry I dont enjoy the phone number, Rooms for Friends. I was fidgety at first, I did see the movie Hostel. They were extraordinarily nice and we got breakfast and everything. www.venere.com

The one in Bolzano is nice and of late a short walk from the train station. E22 for a single and E19.5 for a shared room. There are several surrounded by Alto Adige and here is their website.
