Am thinking of travelling round italy by train...is this such a fitting hypothesis..or?
should I go for a bag tour deal instead? My plan is Venice to Florence, after Rome and Pompei. Can it be done well contained by ten days?
Answers: If you fly to Milan, you could see Florence (2 days), then Rome (4 days), and I would spent the remaining 4 days around Campania, I would call round the Amalfi coast or Naples, Sorrento, Capri and Pompeii, Ercolano, Oplonti (you could choose among these places).
It's a pity to go to Campania and look in only Pompeii!
If you could stay more time, it would be better.
You can travel by train even if they are slightly expensive, the connections among these cities are well organised.

Sara R have some very devout points and I'd just re- affirm that. Thats how I get around Italy with my trip. Trains be no more then a few mins belated. You could buy passes online or though a touch blind keyosk (sp?), see schedules for planning purposes. Pompei might be a short time hard to acquire to. I took the train into Napoli meeting people and they took me around that area.

You'll be runnding around pretty hurriedly but 10 days is a decent amount of time to see the highlights.
The package tours are a good theory if you've never been in attendance. If you are familiar beside the train system and there are no strikes, it's an affordable instrument to go.

Travelling to Italy by train is the best way. Yes you can do it contained by ten days. I resided in Italy for a few years rear in the 1990s. It's a great place to revise history and art. you sure can!

When choosing the best train for you, It's better if you pocket "eurostar" which is the fastest train.

It's a 2 and a partly or 3 hours trip..
From Firenze to Roma it'll take a hour and a partly if you take the Eurostar AKA "ES".
From Rome to Pompei it's a 2 hours long trip.
You'll receive to stay 2 days per city...it's not that bad...

Where will you fly surrounded by to (Rome, Milan, Venice?) and out from? This is key to know to label your plan happen,. Yes, travel by train within Italy is easy and convenient. I enjoy done Pompeii as a day trip from something like an hour north of Bologna (using the night trains). Rome is a time trip using the Eurostar. Ten days for your plan is very possible.

One option to consider might be to use the darkness train from Venice to Naples to get to Pompeii. You can attain a berth on the train instead of a hotel, sleep through the night and stir up at or near your destination. From where on earth I live, I can get to Nice, Paris, Munich or Vienna hasty in the morning, and return home on the dark train after a full day sightseeing.
