Am i irish or scots irish?
just saw this entry on history channel that proves im not scots irish, im 90% irish by math, enjoy one scot ancestor, so does that make me scots irish/...hist ditch says scots irish are displaced scots who settled contained by ireland, but that s not me, my ancestors were irish, next to one ggmother marrying a scot.....so what am I?
Answers: Well, techincally your are 90% Irish beside at least one Scot. So you are probably as Irish as any Irish can be. The Scot Irish are Scots that lived within the Ulster area of Ireland for a time until that time they imigrated to America. If you were born surrounded by America you are an American You're American. Deal with it.

Where were you born?
If you are born within America you are American. That is unless you have the right to claim Irish or Scottish citizenship surrounded by which case you could claim this & own dual citizenship & be American & something else. Only Dual citizenship is allowed however, if you wanted to & be eligiable to become Scottish & Irish then you would enjoy to resind American citizenship.
You could refer to your self to be of heritage of another country but that does not chance the reality you are American.
Another ansewer had some comments that your religion would enjoy some bearing on wheather you are Irish clad or Scottish. Has completly nothing to do wit anything, they own Catholics in Scotland & we enjoy Protestants in Ireland.
