How much should groceries for one be contained by Cork per month?

My grocery/food allowance from my school is $400 US a month (about 300 Euro I think). Is this going to be ample? I'm used to buying on a budget. I just don't want to dip into my personal money for groceries (I'll be fine if I own to dip into it for eating out and for alcohol).

Answers:    Yeah, I would say-so that'll be plenty. Personally, I would be able to survive on around 230 euro per month somewhat easily. Have a look at the Tesco website below to bring an idea of prices for groceries. I haven't looked at it so you might hold to register or something, but it's worth a look anyway to get an average guide. Remember though, stuff is cheaper surrounded by Tesco (or Aldi or Lidl, I'm sure there's at least one of those surrounded by Cork) than in Spar, for example. So shop fussily!

You will have to cost the price of food, to find out if your budget will cover it. If you hold to restrict your money it would be best to cut down on the alcohol and the going out. You will be fine.
Myself and my boyfriend live on EUR200 a month groceries!
We do our shopping in Tescos and Lidl.
It depends on your piece in food, brand name etc. If you prefer high branded foods next Marks and Spencers would be ideal on the other hand expensive.
Eating out is expensive in restaurants but I suggest buying most your alcohol from supermarkets or off-licences as pubs are intensely expensive here.
Enjoy your Stay!
While watching my wallet living for a year in Cork city, I spent in the region of 20 to 30 euro a week on groceries. And I didn't even have to shift Aldi or Lidl. Tescos or Dunnes stores are the best bet.

If you are including alcohol, well, conceivably a lot more, but I would own spent maybe 20 euro a week surrounded by the off licence (liquor store), and a integral lot more on going out. But if you're just conversation about food, EUR300 is plenty.

However, right in a minute $400 is closer to EUR270. And getting lower. Sorry.
Look for a Lidl or an Aldi shop, they are very similar and are fundamentally and I mean particularly cheap. Weekly shopping for one person including a bottle of wine will be smaller amount than 40euro, I even added money onto that because some people might chomp through more than me.
Even if you have to achieve on a bus to get near it will be cheaper than Tesco or Dunnes stores.
