Trip to Ireland and Scotland - Need some warning on rental sports car and getting over to Scotland via Ferry?

Hello all. My wife and I are going to Ireland and Scotland from August 23 - Sept 7th. We arrive surrounded by Dublin in the untimely AM. I think out initial plan definatly subject to regulation is to go to Dublin, Kilkenny, Galway up to Belfast and the ship over to Stranraer and stay in Scotland Edinburgh we are thinking for 4 night. So the plan would be like 3 night in Dublin, 2 night in Kilkenny, 2 night in Galway, 2 night in Belfast see the Giant Causeway etc, next 4 nights surrounded by Scotland Edinburgh then put a bet on to Dublin for the last few night and fly out. So any information would be extremely helpful to me or counsel about conceivably skipping one area and going somewhere better. Here are some initial question that would be a huge help.

We are planning on driving so we would want to acquire a rental car for utter 9 days while in Ireland and pickup surrounded by Dublin dropoff in Belfast since we take the take. Can this be done and what would be the closest location to the ferry nouns? Any idea on US cost

Answers:    From experience, pickup surrounded by Dublin and dropoff in Belfast will be costly. In certainty it is another country, and if Hertz could allow it, it's not likely for adjectives the car rental companies.

Instead why don't you drive vertebrae to dublin, get a cheap flight to scotland next to ryanair or Aerlingus and rent a car over nearby. then pick up another one upon your return within Dublin...
