Accommodations close at hand Glendalough ?
I'm looking for something less than $120 a dark for two people. I've already checked on the Glendalough Hotel. A pub near accomodations would be great but any suggestions would be appreciated.
Answers: Although it is a beautiful place next to a lot of history, it's not a great place to stay as in that is nothing in attendance except ancient monuments two lakes and attractive walks. However, if you are going on a walking holiday later it is great.
If you check out www.visitireland.ie you will get shelter ideas. There is a youth hostel nearby run by An Oige also but it is very straightforward accommodation. The hotel is not great. I ate here recently and the food be poor. Glendalough area would not be a cheap place to stay as it is really popular with tourists. You could try Laragh which is comparatively near.
For cheaper flat don't look at hotels look for what are called B&Bs (bed and breakfast). These are conspicuously cheaper.
Check the net for pubs /hotels/b&b's within the general nouns. Villages such as Enniskerry, Powerscourt and Roundwood are more or less contained by Glendalough and the accomodation rates aren't too high within the locality
