If you are Irish, and he be in Ireland when he said it, and he is not Irish, it be very rude of him, and if he be accepting your hospitaity at teh time, then I suggest you were immaculately entitled.
Sounds like you only don't like the guy. If he's a go into spasm you did the right thing.
