Can i travel to ireland from uk in need a passport?
Answers: you need a passport or photo ego now for any nouns travel even within the UK. if you are travelling to northern ireland by ship then you do not have need of a passport as its part of the UK and may not requirement one for eire either. But its best to check near your carrier
yes if ur coming to northern ireland only photo id is needed no if your going to the south as its independant of britain Things hold changed. You can now just enter Ireland with a passport (and Irish visa if you requirement one) or, if and only if, you be born in the UK since 1983 or in Ireland, a drivers license. Nothing else is permitted.
We took the ferry from Holyhead to Ireland final October and did not need any ID, although we took our passports near us just surrounded by case...but my compassionate is that this is going to change at some point this year and you will enjoy to have a passport to be capable of enter Ireland whether by ferry or by plane.
(Ireland person the Republic as opposed to Northern Ireland which is part of a set of the UK, although if flying there, you will have need of ID)
You can't fly anywhere without a passport - i.e. a policy of airline companies - however you can travel from Scotland to NI on a ferry and afterwards walk, drive, cycle, appropriate a train or bus etc across the no-longer-extant border - You may need some form of ID to buy a ship ticket such as a driving license but perhaps not........ We did
Yes, one and only photo ID is needed, such as a driving license.
If flying there's a chance you would tho.
Not if you are flying to the Republic, no. Northern Ireland..Yes So long as you are travelling on what is considered a domestic flight you won't involve a passport but.
You will need a form of picture ID.
By Ferry, no. Flying, yes. no
freshly need ego. driving licence or something. check with your airline though If you are flying afterwards the airline will insist on seeing your passport or driving licence before letting you on the plane.
If you are a UK citizen after you do not require a passport to travel by ferry between the UK and the Republic (see http://www.stenaline.co.uk/stena_line/st... ). The previous comment roughly not needing a passport to travel between EU countries, freshly photo id, is incorrect. There are two separate areas: The Schengen Zone, which comprises most of the EU countries plus some others close to Switzerland and Iceland, and the Common Travel Area of the UK and Ireland (+Channel Islands & Isle of Man) - you need a passport or national ID card to travel between the two areas, but not inside respectively of the areas. If you are crossing the Irish border by land, any road or rail, afterwards there are no border checks at adjectives.
I JUST TRAVELLED TO ENGLAND AND BACK BY PLANE ALL YOU NEED IS PHOTOGRAPHIC ID WASNT ASKED FOR ANYHTING ELSE Have things changed? I did fly to shannon several years ago with no passport. Just needed ego.
well we can fly from the ROI to the UK beside just photo ID...so im guessing you can do like peas in a pod...may depend on the airline your flying with though- check beside them Britain and Ireland are part of a Common Travel Area. By Ferry and over-land border, a passport is surplus to requirements. Due to heightened security next to air flights, a passport is presently needed from you to be presented to the air possessor.
You don't need passports while crossing borders between countries belonging to EU, purely a photo ID.
