Going to Dublin for christmas any recommendation ,consumption out, places to see etc?

Answers:    Christmas is a big event here. Everywhere closes on Christmas Day and there is no public transport any. In recent years lots of sales start on St. Stephen's Day - 26th. The previous answer is correct in the region of it being a ethnic group day. Its not the done point to just name in.

The city will be highly busy and quite self-conscious in the week a moment ago before Christmas within that it will be crowded and the shops full of people so not a enormously pleasant shopping experience. Also restaurants (none of them close christmas eve in my experience although they will stop serving before than usual, but all close for Christmas Day and most for St. Stephens day) will be eccentrically busy and most will require reservations. Shops will be open unpaid in the week past Christmas but will close early (about 5) on christmas eve.

All of the museums, gallery, etc will also close over the two or three day time so not much will be happening.

Nevertheless make the acquaintance of to Ireland and I hope you enjoy yourself. If you find us not as friendly as usual it is singular because we are stressed trying to find that essential last minute offering!
All of the cities are crazy at Christmas, with nouns buying and traffic congestion. I advise getting out, staying within one of the smaller towns, and getting to know some of the locals.

Be advised that within Ireland, Christmas is unofficially 'family lockdown' day - you cannot arrive at people's houses unless you own arranged it beforehand. Showing up on Christmas Day without an appointment is not appreciated, as it is outstandingly much a family sunshine.

Be advised also that adjectives pubs and many restaurants will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
