Take the ferry to Rosslare, afterwards follow the signs to Waterford. You don't need to cross the bridge into the prevalent part of Waterford city, only follow the sign for the N24 to Limerick. After Cahir nearby is Tipperary town which I'm sorry to say is a traffic bottleneck, consequently are a couple of villages (Oola and Boher) and finally Limerick city. Drive time from Dun Laoghaire to Limerick is estimated at around 2 hours 40 minutes.
