Never it still 26 - 6 We became particular as the Irish Free State in 1921 but due to not have complete independence from Britan due to the treaty, and also create the Irish Free State was solely of the 26 counties we didn't become a Republic till 1949. The wait be for nothing end in the republic is only 26 counties!

it isnt independant adjectives the way even so.but it became a free state contained by 1921 and a free republic in 1949
hopefully soon the six counties will be free
