Good sightseeing things between Giant's Causeway and the Tipperary/Offaly nouns?

We're going to be vacationing in Ireland for a bit. We'll be staying close to Giant's Causeway (Portrush) for the first night. After that, we'll be staying surrounded by a cottage near Birr, surrounded by north Tipperary for the following week.

My question:
does anyone know of any distinctive things to see on the way down to the cottage? we've be looking at info online & in books, but i'd similar to to see if anyone has any suggestions on what we should check out on this long drive.

Answers:    It's the Carrick -a - Rede rope bridge, and it's really worth going to. Also pop in the Bushmills Distillery while in the nouns. Heading down south there's Armagh city and the Planetarium, the Fermanagh lakes, Slieve Bloom Mountains, Sperrins, Mourne Mountains and newcastle and God know how many small village and towns on the way. Take your time and savour yourself.
