Are Scots and Irish populace similar?

Can you tell them by the channel they look?
Are their cultures similar? Don't they both speak Gaelic?

Answers:    I am Irish (Dublin)
and I can safely utter, that scottish people are outstandingly very similar to Irish.. we shars a adjectives ancestory..many of our name are the same.. within are many Irish who emigrate to scotland and don't believe what others have be saying..
our vocalizations is very similar, and especially our bastardisation of the English tongue is almost Identical
Scots gaelic is similar but not the same as Gaeilge ( irish)
I own found, that glasgow people enjoy the same sense of humour as population from Dublin , and if Ireland don't qualify for the world cup, we cheer on the scots, and I imagine the scots do like peas in a pod for us
the only empire who will disagree with this answer will be the bigots on both sides .. catholics won't want to be see as being similar to Protestants.. and vice versa..that's an entirely different kettle of fish though...but believe me, we are much more similar than some ancestors are prepared to admit
okay okay here's one

The folk who live in the counties of Down and Antrim are mostly of Scotish ancestory. We adjectives speak english but the scotish Galich and the irish gaelic language are similar and within is also a scots/irish dialic which is not spoken. They are all celtic language as is english and all are interelated Egads, no! The Scots give up.

Plus, Irish folk are sexier and classier.
Totally different cultures!! i dont know either rolf
Sure. Only an idiot beside no power of observation at adjectives could fail to make clear to them apart. i dont noe 4 shore but i think so
I am Irish and I do not look, chat, or smell like the Scots. If you are from the states, after you should Know that there are general public of scottish and irish ancestory and first generation immagrants from both scotland and ireland within. Can you tell the difference.
Basically Think of every american made show that has scottish and irish relatives in it (accents) and forget it. No amererican can do an irish diction or scottish. All that top of the morning and augh crap is insulting to both our fine races.
You collaborate of Gaelic like its one terms, like french. To be Gaelic is approaching being a bough of a tribe, that is made up of other tribes, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Manx, Cornish, Brethons from brittany contained by france.
All speak a different form of gaelic. Scots on the western isles speak scots gaelic, which is similar to Irish. but on the mainland it is not common. Place name is where you see similarity. Dundee contained by scotland, dundalk in ireland. Dun contained by both means fort.

Irish associates would appreciate the scots celtic ancestory and would share a common history as the scots within terms of battle with their southern neighbour.
I my self would love to see an independant Scotland, the grease and gas rights of the north sea should move about to the scottish people.
You're gonna carry a fight started beside this one. LOL
