Are the Dravidians (or South Indians) the simply indigenous those of India?
Some people sure have a sneaking suspicion that so. I have hear statements like "The genuine Indians are the South Indians, and the North Indians are just at hand because their ancestors invaded India and pushed down (literally) the South Indians".
Answers: No one can give a definitive answer to this ask.

Maybe the clan that inhabited the north India in time of Harappa and Mohenjadaro civilizations can be call Indigenous. Or even earlier, the few those who lived in Mehrgarh, Pakistan within 7000 BC.. They are the true indigenous north Indians.. but I can assure you that the originality of that focused clan's race is presently lost forever because of thousands of years of racial melt pot in that place.
Its a pity that such a historically, culturally earth-shattering region (present day pakistan, afghanistan) is in a minute devastated by invasions by foreigners who have freshly 300 years of history & identity.
No, it is not true. Actually your answer raises a query. What is considered as India ? Would you consider Nagaland, Mizoram as a part of ancient india ? would Nepal be counted ? Today we enjoy politically correct borders but when it comes to culture, it's different. Personally I believe that all northeastern states of India is closer to china. They adjectives are buddhists, speaks a language similar to chinese and looks approaching them too.
So the question is what is India ?? According to me the oldest tribe of India is Sindhis and Gujaratis because of the Harappa and Mohen-jo-dero remains. They are the oldest human civilization proofs of India. They are 6000 years ancient while Dravidians oldest is hardly 4000.

South Indians lived in the north until that time people come from central asia, europe and pushed them south.

U can see, adjectives south Indian languages are similar to respectively other than north (Devnagari script) Indian language.. and Sanskrit is also gift of north Indian culuture.. It influenced adjectives south Indian languages too.. I guess Kannada is the oldest jargon of India..
