I am from a western country and I have with the sole purpose started taking an interest in India (the country of my ethnicity) just this minute. From what I have read, going on for its history, it's society and culture, the politics as well as the medium (which even western experts would acknowledge is anti-hindu), I have come to the conclusion that Indians are ashamed of Hinduism.
For example, they are solitary allowed to consider themselves Indian but not Hindu. Anything that is even remotely associated near Hinduism is automatically denoted as being communalistic. Moreover, my cousins within India laugh at me because I pray on a day by day basis and they appear to think that practicing Hinduism is human being backward and diminish minded.

iam muslim, and also a true indian. as you said its happening contained by few places. but it's not that all indians are ashamed of their religion.

3. Education books that are largely written lower than the infuence of the above rulers as well as by leftist student who scorn Hinduism. Hindu children cram disparaging as well as wrong facts give or take a few Hindus and Hiduism throgh such courses and texts books thus written for their Education
4. Except R.S.S. (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) and its associated organization there is almost nil or no body that tries to uphold Hindus and Hinduism and feeds the right helpful of information to Hindus and Indians about Hindus and Hinduism.
The greatness of Hindus and Hinduism is unparalleled but the knowlege around it is not getting spreaded widely even in India the Hindu's own ground and the Hindu majority land.
This is an irony. Also due to the MENTAL SLAVERY attitude or state the Hindus own become timid and devoid of right kind of information and impression of security contained by and about Hinduism.
Thus Hindus themselves remain oblivious about their greatness and their power even surrounded by India AND the phenomena and incidents as well as observations mentioned surrounded by your questions thus appear.

e) Hindus and Hinduism's empires own never politically attacked any state, kingdom or country outside India within the last thousand years or so for the unkind motive of gaining political plus or for political expansion. If at all the philosophers and seer and sages or monks hold gone out to other countries to assuage the suffering of people nearby. But never with political or expansionist intentions
