Abandoned Snake Palace contained by India?

Can someone tell me the label and place of the palace (or was it a temple, mansion or other?) contained by India?

From what I remember (and what I think I remember):
- it is drastically large and covers acres of lands
- it is very antiquated
- it belonged to a king or a prominent person
- it is forsaken
- nobody, not even tourists visit this place since it is not secure
- it has lots huge snakes living it and monkeys on top of the roofs
- it's brown since it is made of mud and rock
- it is covered surrounded by trees and shrubs and has a huge tree growing out from the inside

It's a bit like the palace contained by the film The Jungle Book (1994).

Answers:    I don't know the temple you are discussion about but Kerela is one of the biggest areas for snake worshippers so could be a perfect place to start, they also hold the snake boat races within every year.

Just to give you an thought how big india is it took me 36hrs non stop on a train from Delhi to Goa and thats half the country. Can you peter out it down a bit?
Just email Indiana Jones he might tell you. www.incredibleindia.org
