A remarkably long Road trip- Delhi to Mangalore(trivandrum). Help needed.?
hi,i planning to bring my car from delhi to trivandrum. Its a 2003 santro closure plus.I know the road route from mangalore to trivandrum via calicut- cochi, but never have traveled on mangalore-goa-mumbai-delhi route by road.
i be going through maps of india and get 1 direction map.
first half: delhi-agra-gwalior-malegaon-thane or delhi-jaipur-ahmadabad-mumbai
second partially: thane-panvel-panaji-mangalore-calicut-co...
which of the first half routes will be better? Any1 who made road trips on these routes, delhi-mumbai and mumbai/thane-mangalore may pls guide me. Also i need not to drive dring nights, so which routes will enjoy onroute small cites with fully clad hotel facility?
i m planing to make this trip surrounded by dec. and wanna make this trip inside 8-10days. so suggestions on this trip like, road condition, stay , etc will be appreciated.

first part of a set of your journey
delhi to mumbai
you enjoy to go by national highway no 8 as it have been almost complited . it have a distance of near around 1500 k.m. from delhi to mumbai. you will have to pay cheque near more or less 1200 rs as toll tax contained by this highway up to mumbai.assuming that you may ride the car not more than 500 k.m. perday as you mention that you are not going to travel surrounded by night your first hours of darkness stay will be at nasirabad or kishangarh both are good place for stay and food and also cheaper .the second hours of darkness stay will be at himmatnagar as this is also a good place to stay.
if you are not entering mumbai the third light of day then i will suggest panvel or thane is the best for the third dark.
second leg of your journey.
mumbai to panji
you hold to catch national highway no 17 from panvel and you can stay kankuli or kudal as both are small place but you do not hold a good veg food resort here . for lunch on that day you can try at khed a beautyful town for food. for detail of khed hotel you can see my outdated answer to surat to goa by cliking on my icon you can be in motion to my profile and from there you can see my answer page search on them.
or if you can drive up to panaji afterwards you can stay there itself.

my best advice to avoid this road as this road is not contained by good position . avoid going to manglore . walk through via mysore route and from there to kochi for this detail also you can check out my answer to banglore to manglore and banglore to erankulam question i hold given full detail and map also there
do not stay at national highway hotels.
please run inside the town and stay there as it will be past the worst ,good, and also virtuous food will be there. you may to spend some more k.m to enter the towns from NH. but it is other good to stay within town .
I have no view about delhi-agra-gwalior-bomby route. It may be somewhat shorter, but I would be talking give or take a few delhi-ahmedabad-bombay route.
1. start from delhi in the morning
delhi-jaipur-udaipur(night hault) NH 8 - around 10 hrs drive
2. udaipur-modasaNH 8-baroda-surat(night hault) - (a) 10 hrs drive
3. surat-manor-bhiwandi-panvel- (a) 8 hrs drive
4. panvel-panji - (a) 10 hrs drive
My ease ends here. From delhi upto modasa(gujarat) u r on NH-8. From modasa to baroda u r on SH but excellent road, mostly 4 lane. u don't have to walk in baroda city, lately take a bypass & u r again on NH-8 upto Manor.Manor -panvel is more similar to a joy ride, so no verbs.
The route & night haults that I hold proposed are in big cities where on earth u will get adjectives good services. I have taken trouble also to limit the driving to 8-10 hrs per daylight.

i agree near giriraj b answer . his answer are perfect and mind blowing From Delhi appropriate NH-8 via Ahmedabad to Mumbai, you can bypass Mumbai by taking the Ghodbunder Rd from Fountain Hotel junction only after you cross Vasai Creek - go along Ghodbunder Rd upto Thane city and go in NH-3 go departed Mulund and join Mulund Airoli Rd this will bring you straight onto NH-4, proceed upto Panvel, next take NH-17 / NH-47 adjectives the way through to Trivandrum via Goa, Mangalore etc.

From Ahmedabad adjectives the way through to TVM, within are plenty of hotels, motels along the way surrounded by all budgets where on earth you can overnight quite undamagingly. Dont know about Delhi to AMD. Good luck.

its very sturdy to drive so long nd on risky indian highways
u call for around 130 liters petrol- worth 5500+ inr
highway no.8 which connect delhi to mumbai is pretty gud
delhi-jaipur-udaipur-ahmadabad-mumbai
u will get gud field of hotels on this highway
nd mumbai to goa road is also problem free
prob starts from goa cause u r drastically tired now. i sugest to own rest nd enjoy 2 days at goa, presently its about 3/4 covered
nw try to cover rest within single day produce u hardly found gud hotel on nx road
goa to udupi n udupi to manglore
i no its nt tat natural as writen bt noting is imposible if u hav confidence do report me about ur trip
