Which is the best road route from Bangalore to Karwar contained by Karnataka?
Answers: As someone has already mentioned near are multiple routes. I had taken the Bangalore - Tumkur - Chitradurga - Hubli - Yellapur - Karwar route finishing year and it was excellent.
Here is some more information.
1. Bangalore till Hubli is on the National Highway 4 which go till Pune. This is part of the golden quadrilateral stretch and is six laned for 85% of the length. You acquire 3 lanes on respectively side and you can comfortably cruise at 100-120 kmph for most of the time.
Bangalore to Chitradurga - 200 kms
Chitradurga to Hubli - 200 kms
2. From Hubli, you have to whip a deviation and drive in the road to Karwar (NH 17) which take you over the Yellapur ghat section. Here too, the roads are broad and smooth notwithstanding the mountains.
Hubli to Karwar - 120 kms approximately.
This totals to approximately 520 kms. The route via Shimoga is shorter by 50 kms or so, but the roads aren't polite.
There is third route too! You can goto Mangalore and drive all the means of access with the west coast as company throughout. I haven't taken this road, so can't comment on the part. But I've heard friends right to be heard that the scenary and the coastal environment is excellent for the drive.

http://maps.live.com/?q=&mkt=en-us&scope... The route via shimoga, next to natural landscape, towards Karwar is good.
The two most unconcealed routes to Karwar are - one via Hubli and the other via Shimoga. In both cases, one has to accomplish Honnavar on the coast, from where it is a single route to Karwar. IMHO, the route via Shimoga is currently better. It is almost 525 km and takes give or take a few 12 hours.
