Answers: Recruitment to the Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) is conducted contained by the following manner:
Direct enlistment: Deputy Field Officers (at the junior level), field officer and senior field officer are appointed directly to the Research & Analysis Service (RAS). Recruitment at the lowest level is that of an ‘attache’ and during the probation length, you are designated as Under Secretary. As per the rules, 50 per cent of the posts in the senior cadre are chock-full through direct recruitment while the remaining are jam-packed through promotions and deputation of special officers from the CBI, IT, Customs, RBI, and the state police (at the SP, DIG or IG level) for a extent of 5-7 years which is extendable up to ten years.
Senior level appointments: These are made within two ways: (i) on-campus recruitment of Civil Service candidate while training for the foundation course and (ii) recruitment of University former students. You must have a first division from Class X onwards. Final inspection is made through interviews.
Specialist appointments: Personnel for technical or solid jobs are elected through campus interviews which are conducted at such institutes. Generally, those with some experience within government organisations are preferred. The Interview Panel includes experts and selectors from the UPSC.
Language specialists: Interestingly, RAW also employ language specialists as its work involves dealing near foreign countries.
