My Nikon D40 camera be stolen on a bus to Agra, India on Dec 30, 2007. Is nearby any hope to track it?

There are hundreds of cemera of that make. and as you said the camera be stolen in the bus, God know where that human being was heading too.
your lone hope is to somehow contact the Bus driver and check if you left within the bus.
you shuld have immdtly file a police complaint Immediately after you had notice it might have be possible by local police or friends.
Now it would be easier and cheaper to buy a new one than to track it.
