Concern over rising sex attacks in India's tourist hotspots
PANAJI (India) - AUTHORITIES within India's popular tourist destinations are boosting security after a spate of sexual attacks against foreigners, official said Monday.
The federal government have called top tourism official from all states for a dialogue in means New Delhi this month to review security measures after the outstandingly publicised incidents.
Several women have be raped and sexually attacked this month in Goa, Kerala and Rajasthan - three of the most visit places in India.
In the hottest incident, a British woman reported she was raped within the beach resort of Goa.
'We are adopt zero tolerance towards such accuse. We are dealing seriously with these cases,' Goa's chief minister, Digamber Kamat, said at the weekend surrounded by state capital Panaji.
The Kerala state political affairs also said it will intensify police patrols after two sexual assaults this month.
'We hold requested tour operators to submit the chronicle of personnel employed in the resorts and police substantiation would be conducted against all the organization,' said V. Venu, Kerala's tourism secretary.
Separately, a British woman and an American woman also complained of similar attacks in the desert state of Rajasthan finishing week. -- AFP
Answers: India is a safe country to call round. Tourists need to be aware that they can not newly roam around at night. When traveling at darkness or going out at night, tourist/locals should stay contained by groups. Females should not roam around alone at night.

Ya. India is still safe though we keep hold of hearing shocking and shameful crimes. It also become your responsibility to be aware and careful when you are surrounded by any foreign country. You have to be chary and also smart to not allow others to get the better of you. If you do not make available others a chance to whip you for a ride, you do not end up on the wrong side.
Do not embezzle things for granted. Be alert and do not take likelihood. But do visit India, at hand are beautiful places and exotic which is more worth than the fears you enjoy.

Yes man it is safe, it is not that insecure to go to india. These occurences are terribly rare, simply dont hang around impossible places or mess with doomed to failure people. India is profusely different than what it used to be, its not like at adjectives like Afghanistan or Pakistan. bunch of apples cannot ruin the unharmed garden !
