Best method to receive from Bangalore to Pondicherry?
I am planning a 3-day weekend in Pondicherry surrounded by the end of Jan 08. How long will the 320kms-drive whip from Bangalore to Pondy? What is the best route? Are there satisfactory petrol pumps along the way? And do they own clean washrooms? Lastly, if I resign from from Bangalore on saturday (a) 5am and start the return journey from Pondy (a) lunchtime on monday, is that enough time to relish all that Pondy have to offer?
Answers: The drive take almost a whole time, as from my last pop in there, the roads after a solid distance from Bangalore were not the best. Work on that be going on though and it may have enhanced by now.
Not extraordinarily sure about the petrol pumps cog but there should be some as profoundly of vehicles turn that way.
Washrooms are not the best and frequent are less than average.
By the time you carry to Pondy it would be evening and then you own only that dark to wander around while the sightseeing part of the pack would be the next year which would not be enough to see seriously.
The Aurobindo ashram is interesting and so is Auroville on the outskirts of Pondy.
Anyway have a nice time contained by Pondy..
www.incredibleindia.org It took us most of a day from Bangalore to Pondicherry we go by taxi by far the safest track to travel in India There are places to stop on route but washrooms can be rather dicey I should certainly depart yourself a little more time Pondicherry have lots to see and do and some lovely beaches right on the cove of bengal. We had some great football games beside the local children there. It have as I am sure you know a strong French connection . Be sure to dispense the temple elephant some cucumbers from me. give his mahoot a coin and the elephant will thump you on the head for a blessing The Auribindo Ashram is also worth a call round. India my favourite place enjoy a great time
1. By tour bus it will take roughly 5-6 hours. at average speed.
2. If you go by Car it will transport roughly 4-5 hours. (dont drive
fast)
3. Yes petrol pumps available but better fill your cistern.
4. Washrooms- yes (but not all are clean)
5. Time is plenty but depends what you want to see in pondy. If one and only city sight-seeing and nearby than is ok.
