Special or cheap fare to India within Jun-July timeframe ?

I have plans to pop in India in July-Aug time, this year. As this is my first trip to India, I am a touch confused about the airfares.
We enjoy different travelagents such as makemytrip, and others , who keep relating about upcoming special fare. Is there a entity called special fare? And if yes, why are they not listed contained by the airways's main sites? And when can we avail of them , is it 3 months since the travel?
Answers: What I understand from this airfare drama is as below:
consent to us say nearby are 100 economy class spaces for a particular plane. The airline allocates these spaces into different classes like Q-class fare utter 750$, K-class fare say 900$ and so on.. Now, few of these are kept next to the airlines and remaining allocated to travel agents (directly or thru a wholeseller). Depening on the demand for that plane, they hang on to shuffling the seats. You may check near any travel agent, and ideally if you are first few to make your booking you might bring a less fare. 3 months is a just the thing time frame but check with your agent.
Also, facts that if you travel on working day during the hours of daylight, the fare might be less. Weekends is usually giant.
i may be wrong with the above statistics and it more or smaller number works the same route.
Edit: Sometimes airlines also release a special fare, but it has lot of restrictions...
i recommend you book it online airindia, spout, british, virgin- those are the best. book from these if you choose travel agent
