wat abut NAHAR HOTEL?? I had stayed twice next to my family contained by a hotel called lagoon view its 5 to 6 km from ooty railway station. But the best stay and economical is the railway lodge right above the ooty railway station which have 6 to 8 rooms and neatly maintain i could not believe the prices are very low and right surrounded by the downtown of the city . The station master was greatly helpful and you run into him and book the rooms with him as he is the executive of the lodge as well.
I am sorry I havent visit that place before may be you can scour for it in Google.
