Panaji isn't a very apposite place to stay. I suggest going to southern Goa and staying in Palolem Beach. Also, Sahakari Spice Farm and Old Goa Church's are excellent places to stop by.
The boat tours is Panaji are ok.
As for a hotel and prices, I suggest the Lonely Planet book on Southern India. It's very informative and I haven't found anything else even close.

NOW THE ANSWERS! ok if u really close to Trance smoking and dancing i would read out south anjuna(though they have trance everywhere but not approaching south anjuna) when i south anjuna jst ask for curlies it,s a shack on the beach wich is gr8. in a minute if u like more touristy places where on earth u can go squirt sking and bana boating i would say baga and hte squirt sking and etc. is in baga seaside...a place to go at hours of darkness jst to hang out and hold a juice or a kebab and converse and smoke i would say chapora.... a club that have hip hop R&B CLUB CUBBANNA.club with trance i would utter nine bar wich is within vagatore wich is gr8 place but nine bar the club just go's until 10:00 pm... then ppl jump to chapopora.. but a trance club that go's until l8er is paradiso thats in anjuna.. The key cities mapusa is pronounced map-sa is the cities is where u can buy vegitables only just ask the taxi or anything it is ur transportaion is jst say masupsa bazaar they take u unless it's a bus later the last stop is actullay similar to where the souk is..panji is the citie where u catch a like kitchen stuff supplies shopping and stuff approaching that hoped i helped
