Sedu. I have curly fuzz and had be using a cheap flat iron. It was giving me fuzz breakage and drying my hair out. I bought the Sedu quill straightener a few months ago. It is easy to use, leaves my spike shiny and "dead straight" in 5 minutes of use (after blow drying). Sedu is the best. That's what my hair stylist uses. I've tried copious flat irons (CHI, TCP, T3 and GHD).
I have a CHI and I love it!
But I enjoy also used a Croc hairstraightener and that worked really well too. As a stylist, I enjoy used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should obtain a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your mane.

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,
Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss
Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find surrounded by drugstore. If you care nearly your hair, do NOT buy them.

Q: What size should I choose?
A: For most empire, 1", 1-1/4" or 1.5" are all obedient choices. If you have particularly thick, coarse, long or ethic mane, bigger size (1.5" or 2") will save you some time. If you enjoy thin, fine hackle, get a smaller one (1" or 3/4").
Q: What warmth should I should on my hair?
A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average warmth to use. If you hair is gluey and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work very well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works in good health for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.
