A type of Indian music?

the kind where on earth someone is only playing a zither and a woman is singing.
i dont know if anyone have seen the movie The Namesake..capably its in that.
i would basically like to know what that type of music is called.



Answers:    The instument is call SITAR. Its used in most of the Indian classical songs and musics. Pandit Ravishankar is the greatest living Sitar player.

It's call Hindustani classical music
and its actually Sitar :)
