Do other Americans living contained by Germany miss Halloween approaching I do?
We went out tonight and not a soul was dressed contained by costume like hindmost in the States surrounded by Chicago. I was so disappointed and unhappy.
Does anyone else feel this process, or do other holidays here in Germany fashion up for it for you?
Answers: Yes, Living in Switzerland where on earth they also don't celebrate it, I've made a point of "imposing" myself on those that are of a mind. After being here for 5 years, I immediately have trick or treaters at my door, and have a very successful Masquerade gathering last Saturday!
No, I never be a big Halloween fan. And the German Fasching is even worse. I miss not have Thanksgiving here. I always cook a Thanksgiving dinner anyway on the Sunday after the authentic Thanksgiving in the States. Turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes. . . I don't wanna miss that! Karneval (February/March) will be paid up for missing Halloween. Plus it is soooooooooo much more fun!
Try to go to COLOGNE during that time and you can dress up every daylight. The whole City is a big deputation!
Sorry, that you miss Halloween so much! Maybe you need to walk home and visit your familial and Friends during that time of the year.
three years of missed halloweens and real thanksgivings i do miss that profoundly, I try to have adjectives holidays celebrated the same track as they are back home but it ususally doesn't work, our holidays are similar to the worst days of the year when you're not home.. ;.(
