How do population Germany dress?

I am going to be a summer home stay student in Germany and I want to know how they dress? I live surrounded by the US and I don't want to dress totally differnt then them!

Answers:    The answers above did influence most of it already.
Depends on where you are going, and it is similar to the US.

But adults are wearing seldomly shorts contained by public in the summer. At home yes, or going out to the tarn, BBQ etc. But often they wear pant to go everywhere else.

The baseball sou`wester is getting more popular in Europe, but it's not as adjectives as in the US. And most Germans would pocket the cap rotten inside.

T-Shirts with a message, from a cam, near some ad on it aren't as adjectives as over here.

Footwear might be different as resourcefully. Flipflops aren't as common as over here, and you never wear them for a "serious" occassion or even for a more formal point.

It's very nice of you that you close to to assimilate, but a German will probably see very effortlessly that you are American. Which is just a certainty, not a bad item. :-)
You never see German women wearing shorts and t-shirts. That will brand you as an uncouth American every time. They don't usually wear tennis shoes, any. I don't care though. I still wear my shorts, t-shirts and tennis shoes anyway. Sometimes even adjectives at the same time ;-)) ! Simply put they wages a little more attention to their appearance than Americans. So I would dress for a moment more conservatively and nicer for a while until you get the swing of things...Then you can get some nice stuff nearby.Frankly I can spot American tourists a mile away and it gives me the willies, it's mortifying...Leave your flip flops, cut off jeans and cistern tops at home...IMHO.
If you start with jeans an sweatshirt or T- shirt it is ok.
Clothe surrounded by Germany are costly You can wear in Germany anything what you want. They are have nice stores, nice clothes, nice fashion outfits. And also you can see so heaps good styled nation in Germany too. They are have good piece for fashion.
they dress give or take a few the same as you within the states if not they may be a short time more into ''trendy fashion'' such as the big goggles and getting all prettied up only just to go shop for food...dont verbs about it you will be fine.in recent times bring lots of clothes because they are expensive here.example is Wrangler jeans here cost 80 euros.this is about 100 american dollars. Western dress is really similar world wide. It is no longer true that german women don't wear sneakers - I see them adjectives the time. Shorts are relatively uncommon for women, that is to say true.

You'll be fine.
Depends where you are going and what you want to dress similar to. Just like the US, in attendance are a whole capacity of clothing options. You can be Paris Hilton, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Osbourne, or of late about anything contained by between.

I will say that you don't see a great deal of branded clothes (like Nike jackets or Juicy pants) and yes, they ABSOLUTELY wear tennis shoes when the look fits.
Don't be startled by Jenny's posting on top; that's what I wrote about Germans getting politico within another post here. Just dress casual, that manner, we wear the same clothes as you wear every morning. Jeans and shirts will be good ample. As I'm writing this, I wear black Jeans and a chequered "lumberman's shirt" ("Holzf"allerhemd") and no shoes (why should I in my private department?). If I'd add a twosome of shoes, that would be good adequate for, let's say, a lesson at universitiy or a brief in the put a bet on office of some company. In the front organization, I'd make sure that I wear suit and (hell, I despise it) tie.

Many people if truth be told wear suit and tie, but sneakers beneath. It all depends on the color. Black or grey sneakers are alright, but various men still prefer leather shoes, although they give them blisters on the big toe and on the heels. But, all right: There is a German proverb:
"Wer sch"on sein will muss leiden."
("Keeping up a beautiful sign means suffering.")
You won't, due to the American imperialism we adjectives dress the same as you do lol that won't be a problem, they dress pretty much as we do..
They dress like peas in a pod as you. A lot of fashion starts within and migrates here or vice versa. You need to bring the clothes you normaly wear for the season you are going. Hi this is Mag from germany, as we own no school uniform we just wear what we close to, be aware that summers here can also be very cold so bring your socks and coat, usually we love slacks, sexy shirts as powerfully as oversized baseball shirts, just everything, at thaw days we love skirts, short or long, everything is o.k. germany now is a mix of cultures and so are the clothes.
Have a nice time Mag
The dress surrounded by Germany is very similar to the U.S. Usually the colors and styles that are in vogue now surrounded by the U.S. were up-to-the-minute in Germany 2 to 3 years ago. The best means of access to fit in is to buy some clothing while you are in that. Germans and Americans dress similarily, but Germans tend to follow the fashion more than Americans. You won't see inhabitants wearing shabby clothes as much as here in America.
That is one of the key things I like something like Germans and Europeans in common is that they take a fitting care of their appearance.
