Have you ever be to Germany for longer times?

Why have you be there, what did you resembling most and what didn't you like in attendance?

Greetings from good ol' Germany

Answers:    Yes, I hold been within and out of Germany since 1976.
1976 I was within Bremen and Lilienthal for a year: I was fascinated beside Germany, found it a lovely place, except that my parents-in-law were awful. Then I go to stay with my husband's grandparents. They be plain simple folk with no allures. I loved them. In Bremen Nord it be lovely to ride bicycle, the warm shops within winter were nice. What I found difficult be the shops having closed doors although they be open. Also, within winter, it was difficult for me to budge shopping in daylight at more or less 15.30 and to come out to find it pitch dark at 16.30! I also found that the relations at in the slowly 70's were amazingly honest, more open and friendlier to me (except that because I come from South Africa, everyone expected me to be black, so I was a sensation contained by the town!!)
I found it difficult to communicate sometimes. Germans seem to hold no imagination of what one is trying to say when one does not own the absolutely correct word. So, at a supermarket, when I needed a plastic pod, but did not know what it was call, the cashier stared at me approaching I was crazy when I asked for a "paket". Germany be also much cleaner way subsidise then.
1983, posterior in Germany for 10 years this time: Delmenhorst within Niedersachsen. I still enjoyed Germany. Got on powerfully with the shopping, buses, and driving on autobahns etc. Oma have passed away, so the only inherited I had be Opa, parents-in-law still wierd. I had abundant friends through the contacts that children and school bring on one. The amount of east Europeans be increasing, and there be many more Africans without a roof over your head. The late Thursday shopping and the lange Samstag shopping be ok.
2002, back again surrounded by Germany. Germany has get dirtier, the streets are full of cigarettes stubs and chewing gum. All over one sees individuals spitting, yuck. I find the people colder, warier of a foreigner, not as sympathetic and friendly any more. I also see more Turkish and Africans on the street. A pity that a lot of the Greek restaurants own gone, and replaced by d"onerbuden. The youth are less disciplined, and the school have deteriorated within their standards. I like the approach to environmental issues, even though German coupé manufacturers are not charitable too much. The health system have become worse. People are not so honest anymore, and this has also taken its toll on medical concern. There is graffiti on the walls, never noticed it since (in 1983 to 1993) The public transport is still good. So is cycling and driving. Although near are more rowdies on the roads than before. A lot of the big secure stores have closed down within the city. Many more discounters have sprung up everywhere. Prices are ok, but the shopping hours are gruesome. One should be able to close the shops at 6pm similar to before. And family seem to enjoy become disjointed through the extended working times everywhere. One hears of more neglected children and more crimes cart place. The street lighting is also not bright, it is exceptionally scary when it get dark.
Sorry, it get a bit longer than I intended..
I was Born surrounded by Berlin... I love this city and I think it`s the greatest city on Earth... Berlin is within my heart and I`ll never forgett it...

"Ick bin ein Berliner"

Yan.
Hamburg is my favorite city ... travel there as normally as possible. Yes, I spent a year in Hamburg (went to uni there) and loved it!!
What did I similar to most? - Well, the city centre is slightly amazing and beautiful. It's specifically nice and relaxing around the Alster - preferably during summer.although all the Christmas Markets and the Christmas Tree ON the Alster are cool as economically.
I remember that there be a good deal of clubs, bar and pubs in the "Schanzenviertel" (...I surmise that's what it was call...). The people be friendly and very unfurl.
And then, second but not least, the expressions - I love German so much.
The things I didn't like are really not worth mentioning.I'd be in motion back any time!

Greetings from Jolly Old England
I spent a semester out of the country there contained by the early 80s. That time, I disappeared because the semester was over and I have to get spinal column to the US for school (actually I stayed around a month longer, as long as I could, and toured around a bit.)

I was contained by school at a Goethe Institut contained by Iserlohn, in Nordrhinewestfallen. But I traveled other and I liked Hamburg a LOT.

Then, within the early 90s I go back next to my husband for about 3 weeks because he be going to speak at a conference in Berlin. I LOVED Berlin. I could really see living near.
I have i be here for almost two years.. my hubby is in the
US Army, who is also deployed right very soon. I love the fact that within is so much history here and the view is other amazing no matter where on earth u go I be there for 2 weeks later fall. My brother within law is stationed in attendance right now so it be a reason to pop in my sister. We spent most of our time between Bavaria and the Black Forest. The food and the beer was awesome. And near the exception of the occasional language balustrade the people be incredibly friendly. We will definitely be backbone one of these days!
yes, I be born here and still live here, lol I've been here, more or smaller amount, since 1989. I left for a couple years (not by choice) from '96-'98, but hold been here ever since.

I love the mentality of the citizens here. I love the peace and quiet, anyone able to sign out my front door open adjectives day and not verbs about some cracked out thug taking it as an invitation. You can bearing down any street here in any city and not hold to worry just about some gang or gangster trying to rob you or just shooting you for individual on the wrong side of the street. Germany is quiet and undamaging, for the most part.

What I don't approaching? Well, there isn't much. I don't similar to that there are no Waffle Houses here. I don't similar to that I can't run out to the store at 2am if I need something. And most of adjectives, I don't like the means of access the dollar has taken a feeler dive making my cost of living increase by 50%. But these are all things that I can live beside.
