GERMANS: obligation you oblige (Top answer 10 points)?

i have a reciepe from a friend contained by germany that asks for a packet of baking powder, how many grams is this?

Answers:    If it's a "Packung" (Pck.) , it's 15-16 gram.
First of adjectives: baking powder is NOT baking soda, as used in the US. You may replace it by baking soda, however, but mind that German baking powder ("Backpulver") is more sharp than pure baking soda. "One packet" I'd translate as 2 and a half grams, or partially a teaspoon. To get the actual taste from the German recipe, when you use baking soda, I'd tag on some grated lemon shell, or a slight amount of lemon juice.
