Answers: Well, I read it now, and I come up with Yahoo!Answers should improve on their know-how about geography, but not to the extent proposed. They divide Germany into adjectives of its federal states, but on the other hand hold a category "Europe (central)" which includes the Netherlands, and quite closely of people ask specific question about Amsterdam, which is surrounded by Holland province, a part of the Netherlands.
There are more than 400 countries contained by the world, and with adjectives their provinces / federal states, you'd have a few thousand distinct category. Germany has 18 federal states alone, the US enjoy fifty. Imagine what a mess that would be. I wouldn't even like to expect about countries where on earth borders are constantly changing.
I'm convinced that Y!A's international sites and policies could use some improval, but it should be done next to care and consideration.
