What are the top 3 things a first-time vistor to Berlin should see/do?
Answers: i lived there. here is what u have need of to see! its awesome!
the Brandenburger Tor, Fernsehturm, Berliner Dom, now if u want to see more, here are some other one's that are awesome.:
Alexander Platz
Berliner Rathaus
Bundeskanzleramt
Checkpoint Charlie
Holocaust Mahnmal
Jüdisches Museum
Kurfürstendamm
Neue Synagoge
Nikolaiviertel
and nearby is so much more..enjoy!
surely the turist's top three would be:
Kaiser Wilhelm Ged"achtniskirche contained by ku-dam
Berliner Dom mit Lustgarten
Museumsinsel
but if you really want to feel berlin, try to turn out of the turist atractions, and try to walk through the waterway in kreuzberg from g"orlitzer strasse until kottbusser tor, especially on fridays (there's a turkey marketplace there), or see the streets of friedrichshain with the tons cultural movements like punks, indies, topical hippies and - beware - nazis. Go to drink a coffee or a sunday brunch in the Kollwitzerstrasse contained by Prenzlauer Berg, try a place in the fine restaurant within Zionkirchesplatz where you drink as much you want and pay as much you want as very well, eat a sausache surrounded by Alexanderplatz, go to see the museum within the small and beautiful K"opernick, scrutinize a movie in the cinemas of Hackescher Markt, call in the gates of Babilon surrounded by the pergamon museum...
Berlin is a wonderful place to visit, to live, to slump in love near...
Anywhere but Berlin.... Hi there...I've visit Berlin a number of times...most attractive: Brandenburg Tur, Holocaust Museum (though very sobering) & Checkpoint Charlie. Take the city bus tour...see the top sites at a partial view with a bit of explanation from someone who know. Hop on & off when you see something you want to explore. I also visit the Reichstag building at night...phenomenal view of the city. Not in the top three, but worth a stop by.
Enjoy your visit~
