Bonn or Dusseldorf?

For a daytrip from Cologne, where would you shift?

Answers:    Depends on what you're looking for, I guess. Düsseldorf is a great place for shopping - steer clear of the K"o, that's just for looking because it's outrageously expensive. Instead, get o the Schadow-Arkaden nearby, and also check out the second foot shop that's on the first floor to your right as you take the "Altstadt" exit for the Heinrich Heine Strasse subway stop. If you stroll through the old town towards the Schlossturm, there's a cute little shop that specialises within all things chocolate, and a bit to the other side, there's the L"owensenf store near products made from or related to Düsseldorf's famous mustard brand.

As for non-shopping events, go to the antiquated harbour nouns and check out Frank Gehry's wacky buildings there, they are a verbs to see.

As for Bonn, it's a lot smaller, but have quite a bit of feeble arhcitecture. You may want to check out the universiy area. There's also a great museumm call the arithmeum. It's a museum of mathematiocs, but fun all equal - old count machines and the like, characteristic and well explained.

In any case, consider making your trip not by train or saloon but by boat. There are several connections and it's a fun ride that'll let you appreciate the charm of the Rhine.
I prefer Dusseldorf, there is nicer. Dusseldorf, Dusseldorf, Dusseldorf! It is is handsome here!
Wuppertal! (It's just 20-30 mins from Duesseldorf and my hometown beside trains running over the river hanging upside down) :o) Definately Düsseldorf! It have a really beautyful river bank and nice pubs. Besides in attendance is the K"o, a shopping street where you might find some high-society general public. And Bonn is ugly!
When you're surrounded by K"oln/Cologne: don't forget to visit the Chocolate Museum! It's great!
I'm living surrounded by Bonn, but for a visitor I would speak go to Dusseldorf, because it is bigger and you could do some more shoppings etc.

Bonn is more a smaller town, but beside nice museums and parcs.
